KTM 530, 908 miles, plated, bone stock. Let's get it properly sorted for days and weeks long off-roading trips.
1st mod is a lift? Picked it up brand new condition for pennies on the Craigslist. Like a dummy I had one in the garage and let it go, thats another story. And let's LOOSEN the CHAIN. (even though original owner liked these tires off-road they're coming off).
Stock stator on dirt bikes lack? Let's give this bike some real DC juice for auxiliary lights, heated gear, radiator fan, etc Trail Tech has been installed. I was amazed how (unlike my jap bikes) this bike uses "torx and 13mm heavily"
FED-EX man visited this morning. I have a lot of parts and would rather photograph them on the install, but thought this porn is worthy of a pic in the box. Billet mount and steering damper, can't wait to play in the rocks. It looks so tiny in this pic. I was going to go with Ohlins but the cable management of this thing seemed sweet. More on that....
And it "should" look something like this when done-
Bike was all to h*ll and back for the 3 mods: finish stator wiring, convert it to DC, and while I had the front off modify front headlight to H7 and new housing
From the side
Mess under the headlight
DC rectifier, came plug and play with new parts, harnesses to replace OEM, and adapters (trailtech rocks, called their customer support and got expert help with wiring throughout the bike)
Front headlight modded
Plastic-X polished the front lens to "ice" clarity (and I hit the orange too!)
Bike put back together and it ACTUALLY RUNS!
****On a side note, the upcoming fan mod and such may add a few pounds to the whopping 250 pound bike. Lets take a few pounds off to compensate
Its the bigger of the two lithium options for this bike. About the size of some old keys, and weighs zilch!
I'm on the fence about what to do with these extra Excel rims with tires the guy gave me ? Keep 'em? Sell 'em?
Really need room in my garage more than I need an extra set of wheels
