Factory warranty always start the day the vehicle is titled and/or sold to a new owner other than authorized dealer. I know this because I bought a leftover '08 Suzuki S83 last year with less than 1 mile on the clock from an outdoor power eqipment dealer in Indiana that bought it on dealer aucion when the orginal authorized dealer went out of business. I got a Certificate of Origin, which means the motorcycle was never Titled, but Suzuki showed the sale transaction to the new owner, who is not an authorized motorcycle dealer, even though he sells ATVs and outdoor power equipment. Therefore, warranty started when that sale took place, not when it was first Titled - by me.
I knew this before I bought the bike, and factored it into the pricing. Caveat emptor.
