Corbin seat
« on: September 08, 2021, 07:09:30 AM »
Well, I got my new-to-me Corbin modular seat mounted last night and rode it into work today. I'm 6'1", 205lbs, athletic build... and I love it. I don't find the foam too firm (although I have no idea the history of this seat, it may have softer foam in it or something)... It's firm, but not too firm for me.

Review: I sit further back. It puts me in a more comfortable riding position. I like it. I do not know if it would prevent me from sliding forward as I installed my "anti slip cover" at the same time... so I didn't slide even on the previous Seth Laam seat with that $20 cover.

The only thing I have to figure out is the front of the seat seems to squeak when getting on/off or even standing up a wee bit at stop lights.

That's a sweet looking seat! Mine is the modular (2 piece). I really like the two-tone cover you selected.

I also have the 2 piece Corbin, and it works for me too.
I can do 200 miles, stretch my legs after filling up, then do another 200 before my butt starts screaming for pain relief.
Way better than the 50 miles I could do on the OEM saddle.
One day I may buy a Russell Daylong to match the one on my C10, but since I am not currently doing longer rides, it's a lot of money.

I'd remarked in the Intros section about an ongoing conversion project with my 2012. It's going to be turned into something resembling the bike shown here (same top box, seat, rear guards, etc.). Should the Corbin prove to be a little too hard for longer trips I'll put an Air Hawk or my gel pad on it. (The Valkyrie Interstate in my intro thread has a Corbin Dual on it, and that seat gets a gel cover for very long rides. It's a little too low for me otherwise.)

That's a police box. From one of the "local" conversions.
2010 C14, Shoodaben Engineering MRP Flash, Delkevic slip-on, Canyon Cages front/rear, Helibars risers, highway pegs, tail tidy, AST peg lowering brackets, LED switchbacks all the way around, Bright2Wheels tail light, StompGrips, custom seat, 2015 C14 vented and blacked out windshield, Dunlop RS3s, and a Fat Ninja hat.
