It took me two hours of stripping crap off the bike just to add some blinker fluid. The thought of cutting a hole in the fairing with a sawzall just to access the coolant reservoir actually entered my mind. How I got the fairing back in place without breaking something was a minor miracle.

You think you had it hard?  Try it with the Canyon Cages on.  I cut my fairings just enough to get the fairing off with the CC's on,  and it made it twice
as hard to remove or install compared to before the CC's were installed.   

Maybe that will get easier with more practice - time will tell.

Okay, I guess now that I've sobered up it was actually a Bic lighter, not a flame thrower.

I haven't noted any leaks, it's probably just evaporation over time.

It's not that difficult to remove fairing pieces.  Keep track of the screws and washers.  Make a template on where the screws go and put them in the screw locations.  Also remember to seat the interlocking tabs where they are supposed to go.  Normally you add coolant to the bottle on the left lower side.  I only do the rad if I'm doing a fluid replacement.

Murph's socket head screw kits (for a C10) are worth a zillion minutes of bliss, coupled with a small electric 1/4 drive Skil driver wrench, or electric screw driver and hex bit, nekid Conni in minutes....

hell, Kaw got smart on the C14.... just need the right drivers, ez pz.

After years and years of pulling plastic off a C10 the C14 is a dream. Fast and easy.

With a few feet of hose of the right diameter (I use clear one), you don't need to remove anything to top off the coolant reservoir; gravity is your friend . And yes, you always have to top off coolant reservoir on a new bike or car, and sometimes several times, until system is fully purged. But few owners keep an eye on that initially.
