Yep, that is true enough but there is one significant difference; the center mount brackets are different and not usable on either bike (though they are interchangeable). So a ZX saddle will mount (Easy Boys!) on a C-14 but will not be held down in the center unless the bracket is changed to the C-14 type (it will fit). The bracket is not available as a spare part though as I remember.
I <think> this only matters for reasons of security; if the center of the saddle is not latched down, the entire saddle can be lifted in the middle and bent enough to lift it off the bike without using a key. Probably not really a big deal though and the ZX 14 saddle will absolutely otherwise correctly fit on a C-14....

All true, I only mentioned it as he said he only needed a seat pan and the parts are interchangable between the seats. Personally I think the ZX14 hardware is more secure and would be more difficult to fabricate, however assuming one has the C14 brackets on hand, little skill would be needed with hacksaw and file to make another set. If in the case of wanting a premium custom seat made and still having a seat to use until it's finished, then the ZX14 seat should do the trick. I actually purchased the ZX14 release mechanism off eBay with the hopes of someday putting it on my C14..someday....(anybody watch HBO's Westworld?..that "someday".
