I'm the proud owner of a 2002 ZZR1200, the small-fairing, chain-drive, no hard bags version of the Concours...or is it the ZX-11 on steroids?

After several hundred miles of a combination of raging downpours, dirt roads and cutting up the mountain twisties...

Ain't nevah seen one of those before! Love being able to actually see the motor for a change. Was this a one-year wonder?

Neither has any Kawasaki dealer (although I try to get them to think this is a "special edition" that they only made a few of, just for laughs).
I built this bike starting in mid-2007 by converting an engine from a 2003 ZRX 1200R to shaft drive and designing my own front engine mount to make it "Concours compatible".

I also grafted the front fork assembly (forks, wheel, brakes, fender, etc.) from the same ZRX to the Concours. Mean Streak wheel basically finishes up the chassis upgrade.

 Sharp !! What did you use for trim on the bottom of the fairing? I've been thinking about going half naked ;)
-
I do love the looks of that studly engine! One thing I miss with the Concours, you can't even see the mechanical bits.

I just took some 1/8" X 1 1/2" aluminum bar stock and basically blacksmithed it into shape to replicate the curve om the bottom of the fairing. After I drilled the mounting holes I fashioned a bracket to mount the tab of the inner fairing panel since I cut it at the line of the edge of the upper fairing. I then painted it black with Rustoleum. If I had it to do over I would have tried to make 1" wide stock work (it would be a bit less massive). Here are some pics:

It starts with a "K" and ends with a "B Fork Brace" and you get it from Murph's Kits. :D
