Anyone put a quick oil drain valve on their C14?
« on: May 16, 2012, 07:37:08 AM »
This is the part#F109(N)(size 12mm - 1.5) that the manufacturer recommends.  Wondering if anyone else out there has put one on?

Thanks - Chris

Wouldn't that hang below the pan and decrease your clearance and put something really vulnerable there to get hit if you do run over a curb or something?

I can see why one might want a quick drain valve, but removing the filter makes a big enough mess already that you aren't saving time and mess by having one.

Thanks for all the input.  I guess I'll pass and do the oil change the old fashion way.

In thinking about this a bit, it might be ok on the 10+ models as their drain bolt location has changed to the side of the pan facing forward.  Don't know how much the valve would stick down past the pan, though.

Not a good idea in my book. How much time does it take to take the drain plug out? 10 seconds.

Kawasaki put a quick oil drain bolt on mine. Never had a bike so simple to change the oil.

Longest part of it all is waiting for the oil to drain   ;D
