I have been extremely pleased with the RAM "X Grip".  It is far stronger than it looks.  Have a RAM ball on my handlebar risers and it places the phone right in the center.  Have been using it 7 years now, on every ride.  Note, there is a large and small version.  I am using the small, currently with a Samsung A52G5.

About the only negative is that I have to make sure the arm lands between my side volume control and power button.... otherwise it will press one of them :)

I also used the Ram x grip for several years. The only gripewas the tendency of the rubber or neoprene grippers to come off. Until recently. The x grip will let go of your phone. Mine came off when I turned into the wind atc120 mph. Ram now has a newer holder that i like and it looks like it is stronger and more wind resistant..it has a full back so the wind blast may pivot it back on the Ram ball but not nlow the phone out if the holder.
Nothing worse than having your balls go missing.

I also used the Ram x grip for several years. The only gripe was the tendency of the rubber or neoprene grippers to come off.

I have never had one let go.  But one was somewhat loose.  So I put some rubber cement on the inside and stuck it on and now it is very much on there :)

As for wind, that will likely depend on where it is mounted.  If it is low/center, I don't think it is ever a problem (I will only admit to having gone really fast, depending on ones' definition of "really fast").  Mine grips very strongly, and I can pull on the phone with force and it not come free.

For those very paranoid, RAM also has an option for a "tether", a rubber web that further secures the corners.  https://www.amazon.com/RAM-Mounts-X-Grip-Tether-RAM-TETHER1U/dp/B09M7S9YVL  I think they might include it with the RAM X Grip now (or so I have heard).  Wasn't with mine.  Wouldn't have used it, anyway.  But it is recommended for very high speed, non-fared, or off-road.

The problem with most other mounts is that they require a specific case (that I don't want) or something stuck permanently to the back of the phone (which I also don't want) or require just too much difficulty putting the phone on or off.

I've used both the Quad Lock and X-grip. The X-grip I had just fell apart two weeks ago. The Quad Lock is still going strong.

What phone and case are you using? I would take a look at Peak Design's case and mount system which I use across my road bike, mountain bike and C14! It's an elegant and well thought out ecosystem and while it may seem pricey at first, reliability and ruggedness has been outstanding! And if you have the Ram ball already, all you would need is Peak Design's mount plus their case.

I have a RAM X Grip that I use in the Jeep but am going to try the RAM Quick-grip for the bike. Easier in and out without adding anything to my case and Quad Lock doesnt have my phone model anyway.  https://www.ebay.com/itm/203534086263
