I personally think a motorcycle should be black.

But your bike could change my mind, especially with the black wheels. :o

Actually, both should be silver.....
But that is a neat looking burgundy/maroon there!

Congrats, DonB!  And welcome.  Prepare your wallet for all the money you will spend on mods now :)

the black wheels, they hide brake dust and make regular cleaning a thing of the past.   ;D

Actually, no.  Generally, silver to medium grey is the best color for hiding brake dust.  Black is NOT a good color for hiding most dirts/dusts/etc.

Trudat.

Black wheels would be good at hiding a rear drive leak though.

After seeing this I went looking at Kawasakis web site for info on the 2012 model. Seems odd that they are selling 12's but have no info on the web.

I thought I saw another guy on here that had a blue 12 that had claimed factory dual muffler exhaust.

After just hooking up a new 11 model last month I am happy that other than color there are no reported changes.

Just wondering why Kawasaki has everybody in the dark. I mean like who would know 12's were out unless you actually went to the dealer. Most people start thier search at the mfr's web site.

Its typical for manufacturers when only the color is changing and there are a plethora of older models around.  Soon when the 2012 is on the web page, expect to see big factory incentives also listed on their web page for the 2011.

Ok, let me rephrase.  MY satin black rims do a great job of hiding brake dust and grime.  I guess the gloss might be a different ballgame.

Love the color. Dang Kawa dealer told me it was cop loving candy red. So I got the black.  Glad I did it through Costco so the stealership didnt make a killing. plus Costco will send me a $250 debit card for doing a survey of the program. Been on FJR fro the past 8 years and still would of if they would of ever added a sixth gear. this bike is totaly different. really smooth. Havent really got it past 5K or really on it being only has 10 miles on it being break in says on more than 4k first thousand miles.
Dealer said that the reason bikes not on site is due to official announcement after dealer shown in Oct. Apparently the CHP ordered 140 bikes in 2011. They only took 50 . So when they wanted the other 90 for 2012 Kawa informed them of the 300 buck increase. Cops said no way. So Kawa offered them to the customers first as a poke in the eye.

Used the Costco program. Was 16,010 out the door (ouch, 05 FJR that I got july 04 was 12.2 OTD) .
(keep in mind the rob me town I live in tax rate is almost 9%).
Before I found out costco had a program was getting quotes out the door for 18.5 for a 2011 sitting on the floor almost a year (Dang SOCAL dealers and the 2K setup fees) A lot of scratch to put gas in and check torques (funny thing PDI sheet doesnt have one check mark)

Highly recommend anyone thinking about one to use Costco . they will send a 250 debit card for a quick survey about the program. No haggling or dealer crap. Set price and dealer cant play the numbers game. Plus Kawa has 1.9% financing for 60 months. If I did carry the loan to term total finance fees 819 bucks. But should be paid off by Jan. Got to shine up FJR and other toys in the garage to pay it off (hate payments on anything)
