Just found a beautiful 2012 Concours with 6200 miles!  (red root beer??). I got to enjoy it for a few weeks before the riding season evaporated here as it does this time of year.  I have been riding dirt since 1973 and have been lucky enough to have enjoyed it for all these years, my first street bike was a 1979 KZ1000 that I received about 5 years ago, A great experience but I will not miss CARBS!!  My last three off road bikes were an XR 500, XR600 and a CRF450 that I got to race in old mans class (lapping for fun of course).  At 6'4" and 280 with a 31" inseam, I am going to be looking for taller windscreen possibilities...

At 6'4", 32" inseam and 400lbs, for me the CalSci Large screen works well.
It's not huge but pushes most of the wind over my head.
They do a bigger XL and XL-XW (which I also have) but they are huge and can cause problems with the screen mechanism.
With the Large I can have the screen down on regular roads and the wind hits me at upper chest.
If it's raining or at sustained speeds above 60Mph the screen goes all the way up and that pushes the wind just over my head.

If you plan on doing long days in the saddle, you may also want to consider an aftermarket saddle.
I currently have a Corbin which lets me do 200 miles before my butt screams for forgiveness 
The OEM saddle is barely good for 100 miles.
I'm getting a Russell Daylong this fall/winter.
I have one on my C10 and as saddles go they are pretty ugly,.... but OOOOoohh so comfortable.

I also have 1 1/2" bar risers fitted.

Thanks for tge input on the windscreen! Sounds like the perfect fit, did a 250 mile ride a few weeks ago and the saddle did not hurt me, I going to hold off there for now.  I did accidentally invoke the traction control from a bit too much throttle in first and hope to NEVER do it agwin!

I'm glad someone likes the OEM saddle. To be fair the later model ones are better.
Yer used to riding dirt bikes, so turn off the TCS, stand up, and ride the drift. 
Yes, she is a LOT heavier than most dirt bikes.

Mine is an 08 model and they don't have TCS or linked brakes.
Does it bog down heavily when invoked?

You could say that, planted me face down on the tank. Likely a combination of tcs and me closing the throttle.  As the brand new tire wears a bit and I have it out in a damp day, I am sure I will find out again. This thing accelerates like a rocket, very similar to my old modified MXZ670 sled. None of the dirt bikes could hook till 3rd so they didn't hold a candle...

Oh yes, if yer gonna give her the beans you really need to check that you
1- are pointing straight ahead
2- have nothing in front of you for a quite some distance
3- have no likelihood of anyone pulling out in front of you
4- are holding on tight!

Without a doubt!  I will be itching for a long ride when the white sh!t goes away.  My kids live in the Berkshires so that will be a regular ride!

One of my favorite easy climbs is Black Mountain, great view of Lake George and a bit of Lake Champlain from its bald top.
