Well, hit a slight delay, gonna be short on paint, had to order up another kit from Color Rite and have it over-nighted up to Portland...  :(

I stopped by the painter this afternoon though to see the progress and the color with my own eyes, here's a couple
more pics for ya that I took my my phone...  :)

Walking down into the shop it wasn't hard to see where my parts were...  ;D

Mmmmm.... a Kawi green Corbin smuggler trunk, anyone seen one of these before...  8)

And matching Corbin passenger backrest for when mama's with me...  :-*

Can't wait to see another coat of green, some "Golden Blaze" pearl, and a couple coats of clear on em...  8)

Awesome ZG!  You are doing what I wanted to do when I bought the bike but I don't know a painter I can trust so I don't want to spend the money.

Can't wait to see it all together.

I'd like that as well Jim, one mag cover is good, two is better though right, especially if it looks completely different but is still the same bike!  :) :chugbeer:

Here is something I'm curious about. The time the fuel tanks is off the bike, and empty, is there something done to it to prevent surface rust on the inside? I painted a fuel tank years ago, and had a hell of a time with it. The next one I did, I coated the inside with marvel mystery oil before taping it up and starting the paint prep, and that helped, but there was still some rust.

I'm guessing where you live plays a big part in this JM, here in the PNW rust isn't as much of an issue as other parts, the ZX14 tank I bought locally here had no rust thank goodness, but man o man was it haggered on the outside... Dude supposedly put it upsidedown to drain the gas and overnight it fell in the gas which totally killed the paint!  :o  Lucky for me though it was completely dent free and I picked it up for $100.  :)

It's looking much better now though...  :)

Seriously, that paint is AMAZING.  I can't wait to see it all together with the Ohlins tasty bits sticking out from underneath.  It might've been discussed in the previous 23 pages, but what color are you going with the wheels?
