I was just looking at the Char- Broil Tru Infrared grills last week and they have a different grate than the ones I bought as replacements for my grill. The ones that I saw were stainless steel folded but had porcelain covered cast iron on top of that. Mine are just the one- piece of stainless shaped in a "WWWWW" shape; there are small perforations on the bottom of each groove and you cook directly on the top of them. I think I like the ones I have better because they will transfer more heat to the food than the ones with the 'extra' iron in the way. Just my opinion though as I have not tried the ones with the cast iron plates.

Mine look like the ones shown here: http://homecookingmemories.com/our-new-gas-grill-char-broil-tru-infrared/

And that is the grill I have- the two burner least expensive one. More than large enough to cook for 4- 6 people I find anyway.

Brian

I have been debating about getting that very grill. $299 or so at Target\Home Depot. Looks like a good grill. Char-Broil Tru Infrared two burner. I read somewhere never to buy these grills on the Internet as they ship with cheaper grates.

Is that thingy mounted below the crash protected shelf?

Mounted to the front of the workbench....it's wall mounted.  I'm seriously thinking about selling those barts bars.

And speaking of bars, I bought a Ducane grill back in the early 90's and still am using it. I've rebuilt it a couple of times but it's still my go to grill for small meals and such.  I've got a Sears shiny grill that I use for large gatherings.  It's ok, but it's no Ducane.

How many people can you get in that Sears shiny grill Jim? On average I mean.

Don't come to Ohio I guess.

I hear there are some cool roller coasters in that state, however I never had any desire to go there until now. I can't wait to see Toledo, a place where boiling the water actually makes it more unsafe for you to drink.

I've just installed my Race Tech fork compressor thingy on my workbench so that I can R&R my forks.

I understand that this thread is different by design, but a posting like that without workbench porn pictures to accompany it,....is..is
...just cruel and uncaring to your fellow forum members as well as to all of humanity.  :'(

I'll see what I can do, but if it's mounted upside  down, just don't tell me.

If it is upside down I bet a set of Canyon Cages would come in handy ;)  If the job is too big for ya, just admit it.  I feel certain you won't get any grief around these parts ;)

Truthfully, it may be, Chet.  I'll see how it goes with the forks.  Nothing goes as planned with my projects here of late....

I've heard that too but then I also heard that sometimes it takes 100 hours, a heart attack and an overnighter in the cardiac ward. Sure I know that sounds like a good time but trust me- the glue on those little probes stings when they pull them off and they use like 130 of them.

Besides, would you even talk to me if I rode in on one of these?

Nope, no probing. I still have places 'Where no man has gone before' and that's the way I likes it.

Methinks while you Ohioites spend all that time worried about putting bungs in your front plate holes, you may not be paying enough attention to what is going on at the other end.....?

 :rotflmao:

A little bit of monitoring, a stress test (wearing motorcycle boots!) but no probing....

The glue isn't so bad, it's when they don't shave you first that causes the pain. :'(
