Though I don't know if the adapter is needed, the pic shows the sd slot that looks larger than a mini, but I'm probably wrong..

Go Pro is a much much higher quality tool.  Check out the link to the reviews before you pull the trigger and drop the $$$.  It might cool your excitement a bit.  Worked for me!
