Kidding..Beena while since I've seen or used one of those doowackies..

Lower the reading the better, right?

It's been awhile for me as well.  You adjust the antenna up and down for the lowest reading, I think.

For tuning the antenna to the radio set or the antenna mast to the base more like it. Plug in between radio and antenna, key the mike and go for the lowest swr. I remember having to trim an antenna a couple times.

Makes you wonder how the short rubber antenna's perform out of the box

The Voyager had a pretty long whip antenna at the back of the bike.
