Works great on the 2008. Does not mar the inspection plug.

Soo, how do you torque the filler cap with that?

By feel with an practiced hand. When I used it, bottomed threads then about 1/16 turn.

I made a tool by getting a washer with correct thickness (Lowes), then ground the washer to just fit the opening.
To acquire the torque necessary to loosen, I inserted a large screw driver into the hole and bingo it worked.
Initially tho the cap was so tight that it bent a very large metal washer.  This tool can be easily carried and very inexpensive.
