Title: C10 2001 extremely low miles
Post by: Rpratt on September 07, 2018, 01:14:03 PM
I asked permission to post this bike for sale, since im not an enthusiast, but i wanted this bike to go to an enthusiast.
This bike is a 2001 concors 1000 with 6,835 miles on it.
I am asking $2900, but I am open to being educated. Located in Grand Rapids Michigan 49544.

To my understanding, it is almost all stock.  I was told that it has something on the front forks, and has a corbin, or corbeau seat, I dont remember which she said.
The bike has been stored inside since new.  I got it from a storage facility where it had been sitting (along with other bikes) for many years.
I had the local motorcycle shop go through the bike to make sure all was in good working order.   He rebuilt the carb, put on a new fuel petcock, replaced (rebuilt?) the clutch slave cylinder and said the bike is an incredible survivor.   He has been riding concours since day one, so he is a little biased.

That's important too.

It can be easy to miss if you don't do it all the time. He'll get what we need when he knows what's missing.

What should I be asking for this bike?   I would like it to go to someone that is going to appreciate it.  This is a very nice bike, but is not something that I am interested in.

all kidding aside, IMHO $2500 is a fair price, in "everyday" running condition, meaning it's running everyday, not sitting...

sitting idle is the worst thing you can 'do' to these bikes, as age sitting takes it's toll on fuel tank, carbs, hoses, tires, battery, etc.,

I know about this from experience.   I think I paid $800 for the carbs to be rebuilt.

Ouch!!
Should have been on this (or the "other" C10 forum) prior to getting the carbs done. Top carb guru SISF is much less expensive and makes some important addition overflow tubes and some jetting changes.
Quite a find and reasonable price given condition and miles if you can find someone interested especially this time of year.

wow...
2 questions tho....

who did your carb rebuilds... Donald Trump? :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

did the carb refurbishment work, and was it "worth" the time, i.e., performed perfectly after the job?

Mike at Mikes Cycle Station, here in Grand Rapids Mi.

I do feel that they are perfect, it starts at the slightest touch of the starter, and runs as smooth as anything you could ask.  He is a motorcycle mechanic, but also a Concours fan, you know how it is when your working on something you respect, vs just working on something.
