Very Important- warranty doesn't start when bike is titled!!!!! It starts from the time dealer says it sold.
True story- I put down a deposit on a new '11 C14, told dealer that I'd picked it up (out of state) in five weeks.
As soon as dealer got my deposit, he reported it to kawa as being sold (maybe he got some spiff or something).
The warranty was now started! I didn't like the idea of picking up a new bike with 1.5 months less of warranty than it should, I called up kawa, they said too bad, they can't give me an extra 1.5 months or change the start date.
Dealer did the usual B.S . ("it is a great bike, you won't notice that you are short 2 months warranty..."). I thought at the very list they should give me a discount on a extended warranty, when I called them, they said they'd be happy to sell me the extra warranty for $550 which they said was discounted.
That was enough to convince me to cancel and go to another dealer!
If all you did was send the dealer a deposit and did not have paperwork showing you actually took ownership of it I would have raised hell with Kawasaki. Again, assuming your actual paperwork on the sale showed the correct date of purchase and not just deposit, you would very easily win in a court of law.
