Just having a trunk of the back was enough for my daughter's peace of mind.  A more comfortable seat was the only other change I needed to make for her.

OTOH, my had never got in the habit of leaning back against a backrest or trunk.

:) Because she only rides once per year, maybe two or three times if I get arm rests for her. I ride sans bags the rest of the year, nearly every day. This is my bike not hers. :)

I have a Givi trunk... a Corbin and RDL to choose from for a seat.  It's easier for her hands to use armrests than holding on to the handles when we start hitting the twisties.  ;)

Why do I call them Jesus Christ handles you ask?

Picture this, I'm riding two up with my wife and I go into a corner hot (she hates this). As she grabs on to something all I hear in the intercom is 'JESUS CHRIST, SLOW THIS DAMN THING DOWN'.     ;D

It could be, but wouldn't it be difficult to make something that works with all trunks? Why not make it attach to your rack, but you can still remove the trunk?

I'm not sure I'd trust a life to plastic handrails, attached with bolts into plastic threads. YMMV

Until you see what the design, you don't know.  People are depending on those plastic handles, bolted into a plastic part with a metal screw, with their lives now.  8)
