Seemed pretty reasonable to me at Cabelas, and a cargo net is your friend when it comes to mounting solutions.  ;)
Yeah, a cargo net! Thanks, I forgot about those. I need one.

I always keep one in my side case, you just never know when you might need it.

...or get a dry bag.

jamiemac...what did you get from the Superstore?

Either is strictly first class.  I'm so used to using contractors trash bags and bungi cords that I think I will break down and buy one.

Slight delay.  I talked them in to routing it by my house so I could take a look first. ;D

Got My drybag today, and mounted it to the bike, then stuffed it full of blankets, to get an idea of the volume. Wow! I could haul a live cow in this thing, with room left over.

Nice. I may have to check one of those out for when I need more storage. I use a Nelson Rigg standard tailbag with built-in bungees. On a solo trip, I bungee it in front of my passenger backrest backwards (taller side towards me) and it makes a great backrest. Comes with a rain cover that's never failed. It looks like you have about five times the storage capacity, though.

I'm with you on the top box. Never liked they way they look.

Here's mine.  Just did a 3k mile trip to Austin for the MotoGP, worked great.  I attached it with RokStraps, and took 2 jackets, my huge heavy winter jacket and my vented jacket and used them both. When I swapped, the amount in the drybag changed substantially. No problem, just recinch the RokStraps. Perfect solution, plus it serves as a backrest.
