Helmet Liners for hot weather

Does anybody here use helmet liners for hot weather? My helmet gets sticky and smelly and I would like to try and reduce that wearing a liner but wanted to get an idea as to what works for you.

I wear a liner all the time. It keeps the helmet a little more fresh and I can soak it in cold water at stops on really hot days.

The one I have is a nomex one from my flight deck days. It's beginning to wear out so I'm starting to look for a replacement.

I've worn Silk helmet liner for years hot or cold.

I wear one racing to soak up the sweat, but never thought of using it on the street. I run in the heat and I'm pretty tolerant of high temps, so I'm usually about the last person to start sweating. And if I'm sweating, it's pretty damn hot out.

It just looks like that 'rooster' seam on top would aggravate or/and cause a hotspot..

Why in the world does that thing have a such a long tail? I don't need something sticking down into my jacket, or even worse flapping in the breeze. Other than that it looks good. The OTH one lust doesn't look comfortable with those ridges. My helmet is tight and the do-rag I am currently using, as skinny as it is, still makes the helmet fit tight. Besides which, it is cotton. With my experience in the heat down here I don't think I want cotton on my dome. I like to use moisture wicking shirts under my jacket as they feel much more comfortable

I've never had a problem.  I don't wear mine all the time, but have had it for a long time.

You may want to check it out a little better, it's not cotton. It's the same dual layer that is used on the under garments. If your helmet is extra snug, there may be an issue, maybe not. If sized correctly, the liner will just make it a bit more snug. I where it virtually all the time, the helmet liner has adapted to it. The tail goes in the jacket, helps wick moisture  away from a sweating neck. I've tried other alleged wicking liners, the LDComfort works best, for me. Just to emphasize, it is not cotton. Your right about cotton sucking. Agree on wicking shirts and socks also. It all helps.

I wear a Schampa coolmax head sock thing.  It keeps the wind off my neck when it is cold out and I soak it in water when it is hot out.
