Have the OEM in my 2007 Suzuki Bandit. Pull it out and put on wood in the basement every winter.
Have had one last at least 15 years in my Cheyenne then moved it into my wife's van for another two.

I think I had 5 years on my C10 battery and I changed it just because..   Some people have good luck with batteries, some don't.  Knock on wood, I've been in the former camp.  I don't know why this is.  I don't use a charger on my C14 and as long as I run it no less than once a month, I've never had an issue with it.  I did replace it early (3 or 4 years) because I was going cross country and didn't want the stress of thinking about it going bad.

Do as you wish but the idea that the battery needs to be isolated from contact with cement went out the window a very long time ago...... About the time we developed plastic.....

I replaced the two original batteries in my 2003 Duramax a few months ago. The only reason that I replaced them was that one of the batteries went bad and was pulling the other one down. The bad battery was located in an area where it was exposed to way more heat than the other battery was. I kept the good battery, it's still good!  :)  I don't know what I'll use it for but hey...

11 years in an RD350, 1973 - 1984. Original battery when I traded it in. It helped that it was kick start.

Not certain but I don't think I've ever replaced the battery in my 2003 Honda Rincon ATV.

I replaced the battery in my Dakota at 11-1/2 years and it was still going. Winter was coming and I didnt want to take any chances. Put in an even bigger one.
I think the one in my Cal III lasted 8.

I just automatically replace the batteries at the end of the warranty.  I changed a 6 year old battery out of my car a couple months back.  I am trying to hedge my bets against failure on a bitter cold day in the hellish winter that is predicted.

I did get many years out of a kick start yamaha.   Then one day something went wrong with the battery and the bike died going down the road.  You would think the alternator would keep up, but once it stopped, only a new battery would get it to start.   The charging system checked out perfectly and never another problem.

I got 15.5 years from a Motocraft battery in my 94 Mazda B4000. The battery in my Kaw Prairie 650 is getting tired at 13.5 years of age.
