I'm having some issue with racing(if that is the correct term) while shifting. Everything at idle and down shifting is fine. As I shift from 1st to 2nd the the rpms jump a little. As I progress into the higher gears with higher rpms it is more pronounced. I'm hoping that there is not something going on with the clutch. Maybe something hung up with the cables?
Thanks

Sounds like bound up or dry cables.

How about the throttle cables?
-
could be throttle cables. When does it happen? Between gears ? or after you release the clutch?

To answer the questions:
It happens when I squeeze the clutch.
I will be taking a look at the throttle cables and giving them a lube for starters. Also, I had a rubber cap crack on one of the vacuum ports and the engine was not running well. To compensate I was turning up the idle so as to not stall at the lights. I think maybe I over did it. Vacuum caps have been replaced and everything is fine but having trouble getting idle to spec.

Update for those who care. Lubed the throttle cables, cleaned the carbs and did a valve adjustment and all is well with the concours.
;D

I certainly care. Thanks for letting us know what worked.
