Title: What not to do when you shop with your wife
Post by: tweeter55 on June 08, 2015, 07:56:29 PM
A husband and wife are shopping in their local Wal-Mart. The husband picks up a case of Miller Lite and puts it in their cart.
'What do you think you're doing?' asks the wife. 'They're on sale, only $10 for 24 cans' he replies. 'Put them back, it's a waste of money', demands the wife, and so he does and they carry on shopping.
A few aisles further on along, the woman picks up a $20 jar of face cream and puts it in the basket.
'What do you think you're doing?' asks the husband
'It's my face cream. It makes me look beautiful,' replies the wife.
Her husband retorts: 'So does 24 cans of Miller Lite and it's half the price....'

HUSBAND DOWN, AISLE 7 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good chit mang! :D
24 sounds like a low number, but still works if you're fast enough. 8)

I remember when I could buy a case (24 cans) for $2.50...course I think it was Schlitz or something of that ilk at the time.  It was cheap and so were we.

My first taste of beer was Schlitz, steel can found on the side of the road. Opened it with a knife. Warm Schlitz out of a steel can... yummy... NOT!

Primo (Hawaiian Schlitz)... then a Coors!  That combo pretty much ruined me on beer for several years... stuck with bud, green leafy stuff!  8)

Had a girlfriend whose Dad asked me if I wanted a beer.  I'm thinking "great, the old dude likes me".  I say sure, so he walks over to his car, opens the trunk and pulls out a couple of cans of Old Milwaukee.  This was in the middle of the summer.  I just stood there looking at him, then the beer, then him.  He opened his and started drinking so I did the same.     Not refreshing and not tasty and not my girlfriend too much longer.

ahhhhhhh great memories....
when I was a small kid, we lived in Cleveland, middle of the city, and dad always had 2 cases of beer in returnable bottles at the time, dropped off on our back porch every other week... one case was always POC.... Pilsner On Call ( many people called it an offensive name, relating to Cleveland)...
the other case would vary, either Carling, or Stroh's... all were Cleveland breweries at the time..
My job was to take the cases immediatly off the porch, and into the yard, and pull out each bottle and wipe it down with dishwater, and then spray the inside of the beer case bottom with Raid Roach killer... and put the bottles all back in before putting it in our enclosed porch for storage...
the beer distribution facilities were notoriously over run with cockroaches, and this had to be done or.... welll..... you'd have roaches... we never did.

this earned me the right to have a glass of beer each night when dad got home... sweeet....
sodapop was pretty much off limits.. it caused cavities, and cost more than beer... or so dad insisted.

when we moved out of the city  and out into the rural home of my teen years, mom was a penny pincher, and would no longer buy "name brand" beer for dad, instead she would buy it while grocery shopping, and it would be one of two kinds...
either BEER or beer... both in a white can, with black letters... it was generic.. hilarious, as I always thought the "beer" was much better than the "BEER"...
they were made by.... Carling, and Pabst/Stroh's... go figure...
good job mom.

we never got the BEER with the vertical word here, I think that was Miller, we just had the horizontal word stuff...

old dead beers....

our favorite in highschool was another abomination,
all of us had huge chains woven from pull tabs decorating our rooms....and fond memories of puking beer out of our noses....
