Givi mounting plate

  I'm interested in getting a Givi top box for my 18' Concours but when I went to the Givi website to look for the correct mounting plate they only list 08' - 14'. Is there a difference beyond the year 2014 or have they just not updated their website in eight years?

   So I called Givi and asked about the mounting plate for an 18' Concours and he said there was a design change on the rear rack and that their plate won't work unless you do some modification to the rear rack. I asked what the mod was and he something about a weld that had to be cut. Has anyone with a 15' or newer installed the Givi rack on their bike?

With the SW Motech Givi kit fitted all Givi Monokey trunks fit directly to the rack.

Personally, I made my own rack plate from 1/4" ally plate and bolted the SW Motech kit to it.
I have a Givi Maxia4 trunk on there and it's solid.

I don’t believe the luggage rack changed from prior years. I have a machined aluminum rack that accepts the Givi MonoKEY or MonoLOCK trunks.

The Top Box should come with the mounting plate.. It'll either be a Monolock or Monokey mounting plate. Maybe you're thinking of the rack that Phil posted ^

I used a Shad and it came with a mounting plate.  Worked very well.  I wouldn't mount anything to the stock rear rack.  It was recalled once for breaking and then we still had reports of the new one breaking under load.  Mine is still on the shelf.

While some trunks may come with a mounting plate, all are made of plastic and are no stronger than the stock rack. I have a Givi trunk/rack on one of my bikes and I doubt it is any stronger than stock.

I understand your racks can have the Monokey  fitting kit, but do you have the kit for the Monolock cases?

I have one (1) MonoLOCK kit coming. As shown below, this replaces two layers of plastic with one layer of aluminum & steel. Much more solid!

    I just wanted to give kudos to you, thanks to the rear rack I got from you I was able to mount my Givi Maxia V56 Trunk. I very happy with it. I also bought a Givi luggage rack that mounts on top and installed an Admore Lighting kit which adds blinkers and brake lights to the lenses on the trunk. I'm glad it's almost Spring because I'm ready to go on trip somewhere.
