Post your GPX files of your favorite roads/rides

(1/3) > >>

Taff:
Folks,

Been kicking the idea around about posting your favorite roads that you like to ride.
Garmin has many file formats bit I suggest you post up your GPS routes in "GPX" format.

Why the GPX format?
Well, this file is easliy saved in the drop down menu of Mapsourse (or other mapping software) after you create the route in the software.
This GPX route can saved to an SD card and inserted into a Zump unit. Once the Zumo has booted up, the Zumo will ask what would like to do with the new data. Just be reminded that the SD card should have a folder named Garmin on the route directory, and then a sub directory named "GPX", then copy the GPX file to the GPX folder.

When posting please be reminded of the following:

1) File size must be below the 4mb maximum for upload
2) Brief description of the route, stating what State and any POI's (Points of interest) attached to the file
3) Any ideas that would help this thread or make it more interesting

Jon.

Thanks Jim, great help to get these files uploaded to the forum as this thread may prove to become interesting as the year spans out.
As a matter of interest to anyone looking at this thread, let me just say that Jim spent a great deal of time working this issue in the background for me and you, so Jim if we meet, beer's on me  :chugbeer: :chugbeer:.

Jon.
