Your C14 @ a non-chain restaurant!
« on: February 08, 2013, 09:52:04 AM »
Post up some pics of your bike at a great diner, dive, or drive-in

Perhaps cue us where the place is, and if the food was decent or maybe a warning not to stop there!  Service/wait-staff and price details welcome as well

(phone pics, film scans, and black and white pics welcome!)

Lets kick this off, I arrived in Gilbert AZ at around 3:30 AM.  Got a pic at this place.  It was closed at that hour so not details, but I'll be back out west before too long and bump this thread with some feedback on the joint  :D

Rural SC, can't recall the name of the town. They still have an old timey Soda Fountain operational!

It's a poor picture I know, it doesn't show the restaurant. But this is in front of El Cafecito in Grants NM. Everyone know that NM chili is the best and this place has great dishes with red or green. This is also right on the old Route 66.

BTW: you see a LOT of Valkyries in my pics because I have 2 brothers and a son that own them. So I quite often ride my C14 with 3 Valkyries. The black one used to be mine.

Hanna Cafe. Hanna, UT. http://goo.gl/maps/GXTy1
Good food and nice folks, the main attraction is the road leading in, Wolf Creek, smooth, fast and fun. The have rooms for rent upstairs and a bar next door.

Shooting Star Cafe. Huntsville, UT http://goo.gl/maps/mkB9K
Great burgers and nice folks, oldest bar in Utah and close to my favorite road in northern Utah, UT-39, Monte Cristo.

Main St. Diner. Buffalo, WY.
Had a very good breakfast, sat drinking coffee and talking to the owner/cook for probably an hour that morning on a road trip, then rode 16 through Bighorn National Forest.

Angus. Swan Valley, ID. http://goo.gl/maps/aR1nv

Had a really good meal, the folks there were very nice and I bought a jar of 'Onion Marmalade'......cause wtf is onion marmalade. Well, it's awesome, that's what it is.

Dang.  I've got many photos of unique restaurants, but none with the Connie.  Going on a lunch run tomorrow, but not on the Connie.  Frustrating belonging to a motorcycle specific forum when you have more than one bike.

As a former Phoenician, you can't go wrong at Joe's, unless you pick the wrong time of day! The line will be out the door!  Friday, Saturday nites @ peak time. Kinda cafe-style. While in line you will have time to decide. If it's your birthday you get a free dessert. Lemon cake, brownie, used to anyway.
FWIW, Joe has 3 restaurants in the PHX area, each with a different idea. Joe's BB-Q in Gilbert. Southwest corner from Joe's on Gilbert Rd. is (was? I've been gone for 8 months now) Liberty Market. Same walk-up ordering style but different cuisine.
And then there is Joe's Farm Grill. Grow the veggies and herbs and such on land behind the establishment!
Google is your friend to determine hours of operation. :-)
