how close is the speedo?
On a looooong stretch of Colorado 114
Then I railed up and down the canyon section a few times, draggin boots and pegs.
That's a great road!

IIRC, mine is about 8% optimistic. It is definitely between 5-10% optimistic, but IIRC 7.5-8% is where mine fell.
I can tell you at an indicated 130mph, the giant SHAD top case creates turbulence. Figured that out realing in a punk on a sportbike that thought he was doing something. Gave him about 350 yards, then closed on him. Believe he was like "WTF did that bike with luggage just do"???

Get a GPS and try it again......

Ditto. Last week had 140 indicated, GPS 131. So, I removed the GPS and now I say I did 140.....

I was just on 114 a week ago. One of many nice roads in CO.

Another try later in the week saw 165 indicated with saddlebags on.

For a minute I thought you were posting about the temperature. :o
My guess about the speedo accuracy is 5%. At an indicated 75 mph I am doing 70 mph on my gps that's an over estimate of 7%. Extrapolate that to 165 mph and you were probably doing 153 mph.

Oh my, 150 in a straight line, you guys go fast (http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j180/stevewfl/avatars/icononethumbup.gif)

Recently I know someone who tucked in and had a little fun. He said it looked like his speedo was close to pegged and we checked his GPS... maybe close :)

Nice!

I dunno. 145 mph on my speedo was 131 on my gps.

Darwin is quicker.

Steve, you are an ass.
Quit berating folks who don't have your "awesome riding at top speed around corners ability!"
The C14 is a huge bitch that takes a bit of pavement to wind out.
Except in Florida I suppose....
