just wanna e'splian why I posted this...
to start I was born and raised in Celeveland.... now some of you may think that as a curse, but not to be dimissed.
I lived in what was called 'the ghetto", but in all actuality we lived in a mansion, albeit displaced over time, the house was built and customized by the founder of Lincoln Electric....yeah, it was a home I grew up in, my parents bought it during the depression, and we lived there until the the first moon landing..... ourhouse was broken into and looted that same weekend, while we were re-furbing an even older home 30 miles out of cleveland.....
with this said, growing up in Cleve-Burg, and attending schools that risked my life every waking moment, I escaped into rock / blues music.
we moved, and I grew up from that point in an environment of redneck Hicks..... they were all pu$$ises compared to the violence I lived with in cleveland, and I scared the $#!+ outta all of them.... which made me a god. to me it was the norm, go figure.
Re-lo'd to Va for my work in 02, and came back here in 11'...ahh back home at last...
man, with the radio blasting "Sultans of swing", I continue typing....
Now, back in Cleve-burg, we have a rock station that on Saturday nights, produces and maintains a "Call-in" show hosted by "Mr. Classic", and it does play some awesome, and obscure music....to say the least.
the show ALWAYS ends with Maggot Brain..... before this show was on the air, the number 1 (#1) show nationwide, broadcast out of C' town, was on WMMS, The Home Of The Buzzard.... and every week, late night Friday, they closed with Maggot Brain.....
I lived in Virginia for 10 years and never heard this song during that time...tha's f'd up
it's nice to once again, re-livemy life... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh 40 years of Maggot Brain.
I'm sure Strwawboss and Pokey can relate....
cleveland DOES rock.
