Thank you sir !

Have fun! You just looking for roads or sites as well. I like Tallulah gorge, amicalola falls, Fort Mountain, and all points in between.
Way too many great roads in that area.

1st stop for eats tomorrow will be the rickety old country place in the woods called "Shack by the Track". They serve real Hickory smoked BBQ up there, no oak/palm tree stuff (http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j180/stevewfl/icon10.gif) (http://s80.photobucket.com/user/stevewfl/media/icon10.gif.html)

I ride all over that area, and never new about those top secret burgers. thanks!

You bet. If it's still good, maybe a RTE. I went up 441 to Clayton, turned right on War Woman Dell Rd (at the Wendy's, I think) and went all the way to the end where it dead ends into Hwy 28. From (Turn left) there to Highlands is crooked as can be!) I went to the visitor's center and asked where to get a burger. The place is at the end of main street in what looks like an IGA market. the road appears to dead end into it. The parking lot was packed with Porches, Land Rovers, Jags, MBs, so I shoe horned one old
C-10 into it. Good luck.
Ron

1.5 weeks without pressure of where to be at what time is the best moto trip. Enjoy your journey and eat well! ;D

Crossed Alabama all rural roads. And of course flat tracked some dusty dixie roads.

Yes sir, My grandparents were on the east side of town. HWY 16 about 3 miles out. I spent the summers there until I was about 17. Whenever I'm near MS I still go through that town. I also visit this place as often as possible, it was part of my childhood and I can't believe its still standing, much less open for business!

It's like you did a circle ride around my location. I looked at the pictures prior to reading the captions and was like. "That looks like Elvis's home, I thought he was going to the mountains?"
I love putting the GPS on shortest distance when I am riding my Versys. I find many dirt roads and little farm roads. The TransAmericanTrail passes within 1/2 mile from my property.
-
Cool, 3 miles out 16 east they are right about where the turn to Bogue Chitto is.
I grew up on hwy 19 north about 8 miles out.
You know the connection with Williams Brothers to the Mannings. Olivia who is Archie Manning's wife is a Williams, her father was Cooper Williams.
For ya'll not from the south, that just how we do it.

I didn;t realize I was so close twowheeladdict, or o'd have met somewhere to shake your hand and run the C14 down some dirt roads (I push the "R1200GS" button on it quite often!).
Cigar thanks for the history lesson =)
Here is the loop I took around the US. In a few places I forgot to turn on Bubbler GPS tracker APP. Matter of fact I need to post up about that APP

Looks like you passed within 10 miles of me.
Did you stop in at Lovelace Cafe on 100 at the north terminus of the Natchez Trace? Did you ride some of the Trace?
-
So you had the burgers in Highlands! :chugbeer:
Awesome trip. I'm envious.
