08 Concours ABS
« on: August 23, 2011, 03:20:00 PM »
I have been tracking some but I was hoping for some input. I found a 2008  Concours 14 ABS with about 20K miles on it for $7,000.  Good or bad or average deal? Mostly stock. Thanks Tim

I got 7K when I traded mine in for my 11.  They gave me 7k and mine had about 5000 miles on it.

just for comparison.

trade in value versus private party value might be a bit different. 7K do not sound aweful for an 08 with ABS. But I will defer to more knowledgeable guys on that.

I'm no expert, but it sounds like a good deal if its a clean, good operating bike.

Give the brakes a good workout before signing.

I think that sounds reasonable assuming its mechanically sound.  I paid a little over 8k for my '08 non-ABS at a dealer in April and at the time it was the best price I could find in WI and I still think it was a good deal.  Trade in value is usually much lower than actual value as the dealer will then have to clean it up and sell it at enough profit to cover their operating expenses plus salesman commission.  Up here in WI prices are higher in spring and start to drop this time of year as people sell summer toys for winter toys.  Definitely check the brakes!
