What a great route! We just rode over McClure Pass to Fruita Monday...and came back across Grand Mesa Tuesday...you must have been staying right at the speed limit to make that kind of time...
Yes, the speed limit. Actually we made good time because we did not stop to take any pictures (honest officer).
Today we did the McClure Pass/Grand Mesa route. When we did the last 70 miles returning home on the super slab I reset the average MPG and turned on the Eco mode to see if it made a difference. We ran 85 - 95 the whole way with an elevation gain of about 2,000' and I was riding solo. Managed to record 55.1 mpg, which I thought was pretty good since my normal number is between 40 and 45 mpg (running 80 - 100 mph in second and third gear ain't the greatest for gas mileage).
