Do the heated grips still radiate plenty of heat through the grip puppies?

Oh yes.  Although it does take considerably longer for the heat to start getting through.  But once it does, it doesn't seem to matter that there are grip puppies on it.  Kinda surprises me, actually.

That is good news indeed as I need a larger diameter grip, I use Kuryakin Iso grips on my other bikes but can't with the heated system so maybe this will work.

It should.  I had to add the padded grips not because I needed a larger diameter (that is actually a negative for me) but because I needed more padding because the stock grips are hard as a rock and it hurts my hands.

Regarding the stereo speakers... I've always wondered, why do folks do this when there are so many options now for having tunes in yer helmet?  ???
Indeed! I use a Scala Rider G9, and it works great. No bulky mount on the handlebars, and no risk of loosing my phone cuz it stays in my pocket. Once you get used to using it, and remembering what buttons do what, its really a great alternative to dash mounted speakers and phone. I turn the volume down on mine, so its like background music, so I don't totally zone out.  I get what the OP means about going into your own little world tho... Was on the highway once with my wife & traffic had slowed down, and I was listening to the radio....no crash or nothing, but my wife ended up on my back. When we finally stopped my wife said "you were listening to the radio wern't ya?"  ::)  :o
