Dual horns?
« on: March 02, 2016, 09:19:35 PM »
Is there a dual horn setup available that will fit a C14? I'm kinda thinking like a plug-n-play type of a thing. Gotta keep it easy!

A pair of these might work.... http://www.aerostich.com/fiamm-freeway-blaster-horn.html

No personal experience with them.

I have this setup and I like it!(bought mine at a local auto parts store)
It's not Plug-N-Play as most dual or louder aftermarket horn setups aren't.
I used a relay which is activated by the horn wire to supply direct power from the battery.
It's a tight fit to locate them where the factory horn is (that's where mine are located), but it's doable.

I've helped others with the installation of dual horns at wrenching sessions, so if/when you make your decision on which horn(s) you want, find a COG Wrenching Session in your area for assistance with the installation.

Possibly these:  http://smile.amazon.com/85114-400Hz-500Hz-112db-Sports/dp/B004FXMGLY/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1457008799&sr=8-3&keywords=Piaa+horns

They pull a shade over 5 amps.  Stockers pull less than 3.  Circuit is protected by a 10amp fuse.  Not sure how the horn switch will like it. Up to you on a relay.  Here's a discussion on them from the GTR UK forum.  I'm thinking about getting a set myself and actually install them (for those doubters).

Looks like one horn. Is there two in one housing? Seems a bit large.... 8.6 x 6.7 x 2.3 inches
