Still a Luddite, but not for long. Maybe... Bought an iPad mini to run Foreflight (airplane app) as its primary function. Am finding that the iPad is somewhat limited, but it does a lot of simple stuff incredibly well. Check email (but can't sort on sender), browser, music, photos, ... Battery life is respectable, wifi works pretty cool.
For those that use an iPad, what do you consider essential apps? Preferably free.
For me: Foreflight (not free, but a killer aviation app if you're a pilot) Skype FB (why, I don't know. But see another post in this board) Spotify (seems to beat Pandora)
There's a million apps, but depends on what you want to do with it. I know you like music.....try 8 tracks, music playlists uploaded by folks, free and often real good.
There is one called Pure Gas for locating gas stations with no ethanol and The Weather Channel to get hour by hour weather where ever you are, or are going. You might also try Around Me if you go to unfamiliar places much, it senses your location and tells you what restaurants, bars, gas stations, banks, shopping, etc. are nearby. Finally, there is Kawasaki Assistant which has parts lists and diagrams of bikes up through 2012 - just bought it but have no experience with it yet. Wish list would be for one that lists motorcycle dealers/repair locations.
