So, you just went ahead and stuck it in through the hex hole and tightened it up? Did you have any issues with it being tight at the top but loose at the bottom? Seems like that would allow it to rock
I have the RAM mount as well. Initially when getting it "broken in" it started to rock around a little bit. I just continued to tighten it and now it doesn't move much at all.
