Relocating The Coolant Bottle by Jeff (Jaws) Hunter

As mentioned in "Is it hot out here or is it me" one of the tricks is to remove the coolant bottle under the oil cooler and relocate it to allow some airflow under the engine to cool our feet.  Earlier this year I had ordered Brian's heat shields (and they work great!) but I still wanted to get more heat off of my ankles.  Relocating the bottle seemed like a good choice.  I'm sure there are endless ways to do this but this is what I came up with.  I had some ideas about placement but wasn't sure what I was going to do with it.  Once I got it to the garage it was obvious, unexpected but obvious, and it worked out great!  It's a coolant bottle from a 2006-2007 Suzuki GSXR 600/750 (OEM PART NUMBER IS 17910-01H00) relocated between the Concours' battery box and fender.  Apparently the 600 and 750 share the same one. It's thin enough to allow the tool tray to stay put.  I have seen a reference to 2005-2007 but I don't know if this is correct.

I had to trim off a little of the tab to match the hole on my bar clamp.  I could have just
drilled a new hole though.  Either way would work just fine.

pretty original.....
I wonder where that idea originally came from....????? :rotflmao:  :stirpot:

No matter who's idea, that is a nice installation.

Philby:
I might tray that mod. My original coolant bottle is cracked, anyway.

Did it help with the "heat on the feet"?
