I got suckered again by a Google search on the above and ACCUTIRE was prominately mentioned, ordered two, one for motorcycles (90 degree head) and the other with a 45 degree head, well, both are made in China! Before I return them, does anyone know of an American made product that works on motorcycles?
-
Do the Chinese ones not work?
-
Not the point... Buy MADE IN THE U.S.A. as much as possible the job you save could be your own
-
Possibly this?

Virginia Jim: Thanks, that looks like it will work for cars but I think a 90 Deg. chuck is needed for motorcycles. I will get one for the cars.

If there is one, it must be three feet long and six inches in diameter to fit all the product warning labels and disclaimers, made of titanium and stainless steel and rated to 3,500 PSI to satisfy OSHA and NHTSA, and since it would be made by union labor, it wouldn't work on weekends and holidays. And it would only cost $317. 98.
Even this $92 Snap-On is Chinese:

Given the price, this may be US made, but they don't say.

The one on eBay is accurate to 1/100 psi!!!!! That would surely wreck havoc on the TPS versus temperature guys! 8)

Well, They are made in China, but since I have them I tried the 90 degree model, Accutire MS-4710B Motorcycle 5-99 PSI Digital Tire Gauge. It is handy for use on motorcycle tires such as the C-14 that are in a tight spot. The 90 degree head allows use where almost any other gauge is a struggle. If anyone finds an American made product with this feature please let us all know.
-
Made in the USA...but the digital gauges are a bit pricey:

I bet a lot of those made in the USA use off shore components.

He's got the accuracy wrong, the resolution wrong, and marked it up >30% over msrp.

Phil,
I have an Accutire 45-deg head version that I've had for many years and it's never failed me on either my bikes or cars. I've never even had to change the battery. (Mine is not the talking version.) It works decently well on my Connie, but I bet that 90-deg motorcycle version would be just about perfect. If you HAD to use one that was made in China, this would be the one.

Even tooth paste is made in China now.
Thank a union boss.

After reading your endorsement on Accutire gauges, I did some searching.. The reviews for the 90 deg head are not very good overall. Some think it's the
greatest, others think it's crap, and the in betweens. But the majority all agree it has inherent issues. So, I searched just for the 'best motorcycle tire
pressure gauge', and Web Bike World had written a detailed review on the 'Griot's Garage Compact Tire Pressure Gauge'. I was sold on trying it out,
but it's no longer available through Griot's Garage. But I found it at Wally World, now sold with Slime's name on it. I'll be picking one up in the
next day or so. Here are the links that review the gauge, and the Wally World ad for it.
I'm sure that these are NOT made in the USA. I also want to buy products made here, and will pay more just to support our homeland, but this isn't.

its all good kdm, corrupt union membership is declining daily anyway. I agree greedy CEO's, but union labor rates justify companies such as Boeing moving south or to China. Union bosses have no place in society robbing workers, companies, and everyone except Joe Biden and them.
Again, its great to see membership declining daily.
Enjoy the chinese toothpaste =)

While I agree that we should buy products "Made In U.S.A." I do get a chuckle from the irony since you are riding a Japanese motorcycle...why didn't you buy a Harley?

Today's Harley's are not as American as most folks think. Now if you said Victory, or the up and coming Motus, well now it would be point taken..

As this thread appears to be morphing into a general discussion on 'made in America' products, it might be helpful to understand what 'made in America' means....
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/35821593/ns/business-us_business//#.Tv2rvfldBPk (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/35821593/ns/business-us_business//#.Tv2rvfldBPk)
Going back to Victory, I would assume that some or all of the electronics would not be 'made' here and if the circuit cards or ECUs were, then they would be made of components not of this country. Unless, of course, Victory doesn't use any electronics at all and is controlled by points (See below). So while a product may be assembled here using American labor and American sourced parts there is probably some percentage of off shore materials. That percentage can determine if the 'American Made' moniker can be used on a product.
Update: The V92C used Italian Brembo brakes and a British made electronic fuel injection system..... They are still assembled in America but Polaris has outsourced some of it's production (not the Victory from what I understand) to Mexico.

Come on guys ........businesses runs from taxes and crazy,over-burdensome regulations wouldn't you go somewhere that was like America if there was a way??

I found the Slime digital tire pressure guage at a Local Wal-Mart (Federal Way WA)...they must be discontinuing the guage because it was marked down to $7.50. I would have bought more, but they only had one.
-
Jaxter -you gotta give us a bigger picture of your avatar- your'e killin' me ! Who is that ?
-
I don't know who it is in the avatar. Now I am really confused...I have an analog Accu Guage (RA60X) with the 90 degree fitting, and when I check my front tire (on the Connie) it reads 43 PSI, the new digital Slime guage I just bought reads 38.8 PSI...and to help decide...the Connie reports the pressure at 47 PSI...where can I find a guage that I trust?
OK here is the avatar...enjoy

I like the looks of that one, and was thinking of buying one, but Walmart's website reports it as out-of-stock in all the stores near me.
I have a Slime gauge that I like, though. This one:
(http://lh6.googleusercontent.com/public/o2SfMurqj5fOrt0gbacSYfrlQtJjyU3fe4kDYvTpJh2kI391UNrFdW9w5gVji12nUlPSVPspNAJSbjn5yddj0F77slJzaoJD6lSQy746fgoZf5ofGPDlXvVAwNXSw49T-WKmDQ5pjsNzbWN0EISdqEqY9dw)
Easy to use on the motorcycle or car. But I do have 85* valve stems on the bike, so almost any gauge is easy to use.

Just can't let my wife find out ! ::)

Phil, you're a very clever and creative guy. I have a couple of your products on my bike and am impressed with their usefulness and quality. If you can't find an American tire pressure gauge to fill your needs, why don't you just go to your shop and make your own? We know you can do it and we're all rooting for you. Once you've created what you want you can then sell one more of your creations to those of us who want to buy American in spite of the fact that we all ride a bike form Japan.
