Looking at part numbers on Ron Ayers I see that the C14 shock for 2008-09 has part no. 45014-2020-23A.

For 2010 it is different 45014-0289-23A.

Looking at the online C14 Owners manuals for each year, the adjustment procedure and baseline settings is the same for all years (150lb rider: 12clicks in (CW) for preload at the knob, 1 1/4 turn out (CCW) for the rebound damping at the screw on the bottom of the shock).

As I watch Ebay etc for a C14 shock to upgrade my C10, I'm wondering if there's a difference that would be meaningful (like a tweak in the spring rate, in which case I'd likely want the lower-rate spring given the slightly lower weight of the C10).

I figured maybe the "real expertise" is over here on the C14 forum   

I dont know the Kawasaki part number code anymore. In the old days, dealer cost was expressed int he part number....no joke.

See if you cna find a Kawasaki part code, or ask the dealer. A part number change cna mean as little as a new color plastic spring guide, or a 1 shim valving change.
