You lost me on that note. Mine gets wiped down occasionally but I never wash it =)
-
Yeah we are finally getting to the best time to ride in south Fl.
ALL WINTER LONG ;D ;D ;D
Our temps are going to go below 70 degrees for the first time since May Woo Hoo.and no rain.
Thats what we call a COLD front.
-
I ride year round here in Hoosier land. Have been for 30 years. Michelen still needs a good snow tire though.

I rode in the snow in Colorado in JULY! Good times riding in snow indeed :D
I had on the heated suit I use when I take the bike and go visit GA and the Carolinas in the winter (http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j180/stevewfl/avatars/iconhammer.gif)

 Mine gets wiped down when it rains, though.

Beer!

Nice weather but no good roads in Florida, big reason why you ride in Tenn/NC so much. ;)

I hear that C10s run kinda rough on beer?

You can always go to a interstate cloverleaf and spend the day getting on and off ::)
I moved here 27 years ago and don't miss all them "POT HOLES "
I mean good roads. ;) I came from western NY , I fly back every Christmas
just to remind my self WHY I moved :D
-

I put the beer in a cooler on the back rack, the bike still seems to run very well. I only live about 75 miles from SiSF, so he can fix it if it starts running bad. ;) I wonder if his jet kit is tuned for beer...
-
Horrible waste of beer....

Maybe PBR will work?

Yes sir, in the summers I do escape and I ride Canada, Maine, NJ, ALL OVER APPALACHIANS (I usually hide out there a month or two) but winter time its all about FL!
Hey why don't you come down and join us this winter, anyway!?
-
What do you do if you want a left hand turn?
About six weeks ago I'm comming up the I- 75 on Pine Ridge rd. and there is a 80 something guy driving OFF the entrance lane , he was making a left hand turn, where there is WILL there is WAY :o :o :o Got to love these 80++ year old drivers.

Ohio needs me here in the Winter, although I am sure I will visit before Winters end.

Not looking forward to the whole winter thing.
A little jealous.

AWESOME let us know

Come on down here!

A little jealous.
My truck told me it was 33 degrees here in Michigan this morning......I'm not ready for this yet but I will still ride so long as the road isn't white. I just stay closer to home when it's winter so I don't get stuck in a snow storm.
-
I ride all year. I've been ridden below zero. I just don't recommend it. I will not use gas stabilizer, so I must keep the gas flowing.
I'll be down to Florida next winter doing the whole Disney thing with my wife and 4 kids. I don't think I'll be able to sneak the C-14 on the plane though.

That must have been a lil rough eh? ;)
-
I am a year round outdoor worker anyway. So it is something you have to get used to.
-
I ride all year round as well. As long as the streets are ice and snow free. Heated grips are a MUST!

Come to California, we have great weather, manageable humidity, manageable mosquitos and some of the best roads in the world. Plus you better hurry, cause its gunna fall into the ocean during the next big earthquake.

Do you have any Italian seismologists who can tell us when that might be? ;)

:rotflmao:
No longer, they were sentenced to death.

But have allot of stupid laws there too, but the good roads and weather might trump that. 8)

You mean like lane sharing? ;D
-
I had a bike in Florida when I lived there. I think I remember going around one curve, but I am not sure if my mind is playing tricks on me. I will take the colder weather and the curvy roads any day.

Explains why Harley's are so popular there, with the elder population and no turns.
-
How do you winterize Teressa?
-
Keep her in Florida most likely.

Florida has the best curves in the country. A few of them can be found at JenningsGP, Daytona, Morrosso, Homestead-Miami and I'm sure I'm forgetting a few :D
If you haven't road these curves, you're missing out.
-
I'll always live in Fl . NO state tax, 6 % sales tax ,
If I want curves I go the the BEACH
I just wish I could RIDE them :D.
We have a beach near Marco Island we call T back , only get there by boat.

I grew up in that area but never heard of T back. Tiger Tail beach was awesome! WAY back in the day when they allowed such things we used to camp out on that beach, fishing all night and rode dune buggies during the day. Good times.

What a marvelous custom this is. My KLR out there really likes to share.
-
She said of course! :D
Cool. Question. Is that a user friendly old spout or the new gvnmt spout on that can(gas can ;))?
Y'all swingin' by on the way to The Smackdown? Or meet up at McD's in Interlachen?
BTW, I was down in Fort Myers today and honked the horn. Can you ask her if she heard me down in Napples? :loco: :loco:

Haha
Must be in SOuthern Indiana. Too much snow up here in Muncie to go all year. Not ready to put her away yet as Turkey Day is looking to be in the 60's. Comfy down to about 36 degrees as long as the sun is up. Deer more of a problem than cold but I will be out as long as the tires will stick to the pavement.

You out of staters dont have a clue what you are missing. we get to ride 365 days a year. we do have curves and fun roads
we are just altitudinally challenged( I know it isnt a real word)... My GPS tells me I am 62 FT above sea level while parked in my garage. Had a breakfast ride this am to Winterhaven airport and thermometer said 55 F when kickstands went up @ 8am.
almost 65 on the way home and NOT a cloud in the sky. On that note I want to wish everyone a safe and joyous Thanksgiving to you and your families...

Although i do go to the mountains during our 3 scorching summer months =)

My bike has been winterized yet again using this methodology (http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j180/stevewfl/icon10.gif)
-
Maybe PBR will work?
I can't comment on the bike, but PBR makes me backfire something awful. I get banished to the garage until I'm running with less unpleasant emissions.

I rode in Florida for 13 years. I thought it had curves too. Then I moved to Tennessee and had to learn how to ride real curves. ;D

I usually spend the summers in eastern TN/western NC. At least ride there a lot of the summer at a bare minimum when FL is a scorchin'. I'll ping you when I'm back up that way. Also I meet a group twice a year for railin' the twisties up that way :D
-
Cool! I think my railing days may have come to an end though. After my dual sport crash, losing a friend to a guardrail, and the numerous deer strikes that have been happening in my area, I am reassessing the level of risk I am willing to incur while riding. Slowing it down, avoiding dusk to dawn, not purposely riding in the remnants of hurricanes, etc. My eyes just aren't as discerning as they used to be. I would be happy to meet up at a non-chain restaurant and share a meal and some stories.

I like the slow scenic touring too, I'll definitely look you up.
Also there is a friend of mine (who is a Kawasaki USA employee too) in the area, he rides street and dual sport too. Great guy, I'm overdue riding with him and plan to look him up while there next time as well

Does he have a custom painted Versys? Met him at a kawi demo day in Nashville. He now lives near deals gap.

Not sure what all is in his stable lately. I bet its the same guy, names Dan, he lives right near there, and he's at every demo event :D
-
...and don't miss all them "POT HOLES"...
It's easier to steer around pot holes than sink holes... But even then, I'm jealous of a 12 month riding season...

I'm busy helping my dad install some cattle fence today, Steve ... but small world: The local club I ride with once in a while did a ride from Gainesville to Gator Joe's on Nov 9th (125 miles one-way). I didn't make that ride, either, tho :( ... Enjoy your ride today!
-
We just ride there too!
