I did a few youtube clips on that bike. The bike looked all ferocious until you open the exhaust. It sounded like a whimp kid. Bike like that should shake the ground beneath it ! lol

I loved my standard 97 Valkyrie. I put 60,000 miles on it. I went to the C14 because I wanted to go to an ST type bike. If I was in the market for a cruiser I would definitely buy another Valkyrie but not a Rune (unless it came equipped with Walker18's seat mod  ;) ). The rune is just too long and too much bling. Too much show IMHO. I would love to see Honda do a gen 2 Valk with the same concept of the original valk, that is to say a naked Goldwing on steroids using the FI 1800 engine, no extra flash, not stretched out wheel base. It should handle at least as good as a wing. That would be one hell of a cruiser.

Meh.  To me it just looks like a flashy, low, impractical, loud, overpriced, heavy, chromed, poor handing, lower-tech cruiser thing.

Wrong forum...

Yeah, your correct.

But damned, I've wanted one for years. ;)

sherob, what year of wing did you put the pipes on?  I have a 94 GL1500 and the exhaust is the only thing I dislike about the bike.  Crack the throttle and it sounds like an electric bike.

I must be living in a cave to not know  they were made in.....

Cuda, that is the exact same feeling I had when I heard about the Yamaha GTS 1000.
I mean, was I totally in a coma during the 90s or what?..not to know that bike even
existed until I "discovered it" in 2011??  :o    It's things like this that sometimes make me
think about the movie Total Recall:nuts:

Enough about my mental problems, you may now resume the cruiser bashing.  :deadhorse:

2006... wind it up in 1rst, and it sounds like a Porsche.  Has a nice humble rumble at speed.

Impractical Yeah that is what I LOVE about it ;D
I've got my business up for sale , 70 + hour work weeks 12 employees , I'm 58 I I'm sick of being practical , I'll just take care of my rentals and be Impractical ::)
Loud ... No It NOT loud
Overpriced ... One just sold on ebay $ 15,000  3,000 miles
Heavy ... yeah so is the Concours , but the Rune's weight is low , with a 26" seat .
Poor handing , you mean Handling? only at 2 mph just like your Concours.
Low tech ?? You are very wrong , you have heard  about Honda before right ?
It has a revised fuel and ignition mapping hotter cam six individual throttle bodies with 12 injectors, yes it gets poorer fuel mileage    than a Concours so what! I don't plan on getting rid of my Kaw, I just LIKE it, yes a Sunday Cruiser.
12.42 seconds at 107 mph in the 1/4 mile yeah it is a real dog,  ::)
My wife saw it and thinks it's Bonita  ;)

+1
I'm looking for a Honda Supermagna 700 or 750, from 1987 or '88. I guess it's like a poor man's Rune. Nothing to do with practical. I like it and it's my hard earned.
Go for it!!!

A Rune, seriously? Fugliest bike ever made. Sold to blind people who somehow passed their driving test. You're joking, right?
