Any ideas? I have a 2006 & am looking for a little more comfort. I'm talking day trips when I'm traveling w/o my wife. When I get serious travel plans, I pack my tent & Duluth bag behind me & it works fine.
Do you have modified handlebars? On mine it wouldn't do any good unless I had modified bars that at the least let me sit up straight. Leaning forward the backrest won't do anything, for me, on this bike.
Forgot to mention that. Yeah, I've got the shorter risers that don't need changes to the stock cables/lines. I must not have very good posture. I keep reminding myself to "sit up straight".
Iv'e got the shorter of the 2 risers I could have gotten. They do bring my bars up & back, just not as far as the taller ones would have. Also, I didn't have to replace any lines/cables with the set I have.
Sorry, I misunderstood. When you said risers, the first thing that came to my mind is the shorter of the two types of factory bars that came on our bikes. I believe early bikes had shorter "risers" than later bikes. I get what you're saying now though. I should have before. My bad.
It works fine. It's not like a Goldwing backrest because of the slightly forward riding position but it does give me a chance to straighten up on long rides and rest my back. I have LMC handlebar extenders of 1.25" so I am not sitting straight but I use it mainly to take a break.
