When you tighten the screws on the clear screen be gentle. When I did my replacement screen I could actually move the screen a little. Just a lite touch may help keep the screw holes from spider cracks.

When I mounted the good screen, I bought rubber washers to go between the stainless washer and the shield.
So far so good, but the screen is REALLY thick too, so that will help too....although I drilled my own holes in it.
Say what?

With the Rifle base you can make your own windshield, I did.  Works great and a lot cheaper, plus it's polycarbonate not acrylic.
