Slip Ons
« on: August 10, 2012, 03:22:11 PM »
Been thinking about adding a slip on exhaust by V&H for my 10 Connie.  Can anyone advise?  Does it add enough performance to the bike to really spend the money and does it make a significant diff to the sound?

Slipon only will be for looks and sound. Not much of a performance boost.  :'(

That's not true! I have _________________ on mine and I got 200 hp at the rear wheel with dyno graphs to prove it :P

That brown streak from the butt dyno doesn't count.

That's nothing.  I can achieve 200 hp just by waxing and changing my oil ;)

Would that be a Brazilian wax? Cutting down on the wind resistance is always a good thing.    :o

Or lord.  This again.

A muffler will do nothing but change the looks and sound of the muffler.  And as for looks (AND sound), some of us, believe it or not, LIKE the stock muffler.  I know... hard to believe.

Most forum member are aware of your love affair with the stock system.....so why even respond? ;)  My top speed is also much faster in 4th now than 5th gear, all due to my Area P slip on.

Along with looks and sound is also a weight change, just to be precise. Also a major change in coolness factor. Add that all together and you get a gain that's well worth the money, even if it can't be measured on a dyno.

True that on the weight.

As for "coolness"?  I think it is just "me too"ness ;)  But, nothing wrong with customizing to taste... certainly keeps the economy running.

If I ditch the bazooka, does it affect the factory warranty in any way?
