I have heard that the plastic part it replaces wears out and then shifting gets ugly. So perhaps putting that on a bike without the problem made the change unnoticeable but you prevented that failure in the future?
- what plastic part ?- there are no plastic parts on my shifter assembly (2012 model)..
You're easily influenced, I see. I'll remember that.
The sleeve is plastic.
Fuel pump...got a used one off of ebay.
- have removed the gear change assembly a number of times to clean and re-grease it. There is no plastic sleeve on my 2012. There is a visible metal sleeve pressed into the aluminium gear pedal..
What fer, just in case?
Just in case I muck up one while cleaning it...
but it made me feel better doing it
