Looks like your latest project maybe. Moves the bars up and back? Looks good. Mark

Nice handlebar adapter. I also like that it does not block the ignition switch. Nice Job!
-
I've been talking with Steve. This is NOT just an handlebar adapter. Wait till you hear "the Rest of the Story".
Good Day!

The area where the adapters mount to the plate look big enough to contain some sort of rubber bushings to help quell the buzz.

Very nice Steve. Of course you would present this after I have done all the work on getting my bars in a comfortable position.
Just kidding, I may have to buy one of these to see if its better than my setup.
-
No doubt it is one of the next things many of us will have to buy.... ;)
-
Very interesting Steve. I take a person would have to have Heli Bars or after market bars installed to utilize your set-up?
-
Obviously another IED (Installed Experimental Device) from The Mad Scientist. "Mr. Fusion" must be next! :yikes:
Can't wait to hear the "rest of the story..."
-
Ape Hanger adapters! Where can I sign up?
-
flux capacitor!!!
Come on, fess up.............. :o

Ding Ding Ding! We have awinna!
It's a fully isolated bar mount. This is the prototype, but expect to see one coming to a connie near you soon... ;D Steve

If it works as good as it looks, you will have a winner. Not to mention, this opens up lots of different bend possibilities. My personal favorite was/is the narrow touring bar used on the old Yamaha Seca 650. Same bend as the RZ350 bar, but in shiny chrome. RZ bar is painted black. Are the risers needed to make this mod work? Mike in TX

I have run a solid version of this for years with various ATV bars. They're black and cheap, come in enough various heights to accomodate anything you'ld like to do. This adapter will need risers, and I think I'll offer the plate with and without the risers to accomodate those who alread have risers and want to save a few $$$. Steve

How long will I have to save up for this? Any idea of the costs yet? Is it to early to send my deposit now?

Now I'm going to assume (yea, I know. Not a smart thing to do ;D) that the $$$ I spent this past spring on new braided brake lines will be flushed down the drain with this new set-up? In a manner of speaking..........
-
not nessessarily, using tube bars lets you get a really comfortable set that fits you better than "one size doesn't fit anybody" clipons. Steve

True. But the stock +4" that I put on are just long enough to allow full fork extension. With your new set-up bringing them back closer to me will negate that..........won't it?

Well Doug, sometimes when you move the bars back you don't need them as tall in some applications and the 4"+ cables will be plenty long. I am currently running two sets of KB risers with a KB adaptor plus a setback riser
and the only cable I have extended was the choke cable. I am still using the stock throttle, and clutch line. I did the 2"+ brake lines when I went to the 4 pots on the front. Everything else was simply re-routed.

 Didn't think about the possibility of not needing the risers...............Thanks Jim. (FWIW....I'm using the ZRX 6 pot calipers which if I'm not mistaken, hang a little lower than the 4 pot???).
I would like to reduce to amount of "Forward Lean" that I currently have with the stock set-up.
I'm all ears Steve ;D :chugbeer:

Sorry for the necropost, but did anything ever come of this? I haven't seen anything of it on SISF's site nor Murphs (who peddles SISF's knee-savers).
I just stumbled across this when looking for a tubular handlebar recommendation.
So, Steve in (I'm sure you're over just how Sunny it is right now) Sunny Florida, any update?
Much appreciated!

Steve just started his vacation. Will be back in 2 weeks.
-
Bumpity-bump. This is a seriously cool project and I would love to know more as I'm in the middle of re-working my handlebars (and depending on the extent, the brake, clutch and throttle lines/cables as well).
-
uhhh, this hasn't worked out as I'da hoped - I had "issues" with the fellow who approached me for manufacturing. It all came to a head around april - may of this year, and I've been SWAMPED doing carbs, 7th gears, etc so no time to get back to the handlebars. I'm headed into the fall doldrums, which is usually the time I can work out new products because the carb work slacks off. I'll get back on it, and hopefully find a machine shop for production - a reliable one - :o Steve
-
No sweat Steve. I'm sure this isn't the first time production is delayed because of a second party. Doesn't make it any better. We'll wait. It will be worth it I'm sure. :chugbeer:
-
Well that's a bit of a bummer. The pictures and descriptions seem promising. I'll keep my eye out for updates on this.

Steve, have you been in touch with Kevin Baker? He makes a lot of items for the Concours, just a thought
