lights go dim and bright and...
« on: October 14, 2011, 01:39:35 PM »
I dont have a headlight modulator (to draw juice). Only noticed this riding at night, dash lights, headlights, a steady bright-dim-bright. Anyone got a guess of where to start trouble shooting ?

TIA Charlie

No mod. on my end, but mine did this  couple yrs aog. Turned out being a bad neg cable on a ready to die battery. I replaced both, and it has never happened again. I also remember seeing something els concerning the Jbox possible getting ready to go south also.
Do a search on here, it might come up.
Good luck.
RSA, and ATGATT please.

It might be even simpler -- cleaning and tightening the battery terminals.

+1 on the negative cable

Same thing was happening to me and I just blew it off for about a week.  Then one day I couldn't start the bike.  Took the seat off and my negative battery cable was on but in no way tight.  Tightened it down and everything was fixed.
