So the painter spoke with Color Rite and were recommended to do a coat of white under the green to make the paint brighter and really pop! So I guess it will end up now being 9 coats total.  :o

Brighter is better on this particular green, so a coat of white we go!!  ;D

After watching that video, for some reason I'm now hungry for brisket, hot links and ribs.

ZG, you should do a dyno run on the bike while it is still black. Then do another when you put the green skins on. Then we will know for sure which is the faster color ;D

Back when I used to do a lot of painting, I always used silver or gold under candy colors, but they may have suggested white, to get a specific shade of green to stand out. It's going to rock, Man.

Looks great.
It'll be neat to watch the development of the color from 1st coat to last.

Wow,
I havent been around the forums for a while.. Things must be really slow around here. I can remember when someone would do their own project on their C14 like Fretka turboed his from scratch, designing and engineering it himself. Or Brian designing and working out the bugs on a cruise control unit. That he improved upon. Showing pics along the way..

Even some members that painted their own bikes and other custom work..

But really??

20+ pages on two forums on plastic bought on Ebay and painted green by some paint shop?  Hell the owner didnt even touch a piece of sand paper.  Till its done almost two months of jabber.. Why not just have it painted and show pics of the finished product when its all done for all to oogle over?

You can do anything if you have enough money... I guess.   Some people really love riding these motorcycles... But hey, if being a forum (or two) attention whore is more your thing... More power (or is it powa) to you...

Rant over

I have to say, that although ZG is having His bike painted by a shop, He's doing those of us a great service, that have been thinking about doing this ourselves. I've been thinking about painting mine green for some time, and will do it myself. It will definitely aid My decision making process to see His finished bike. The Kawasaki green is a little darker than the GM/Camaro green I'm considering, but it's close enough to give Me some perspective. Because of that, this thread is much more to Me than 20 pages of ooohs and aaahs.

Thanks ZG. I appreciate the thread, and You spending Your hard earned money so I don't have too.

What is the saying, "It's the journey, not the destination".

I have no problem whatsoever with the length of this thread or anything else about it. It's been interesting, & I'm looking forward to the outcome (and realize there will prob be MORE pages between now and then ... hopefully more green boobs (without stretch marks) will be posted)
