I just got home from the painter, I got to look through all the pieces and I must say I am very pleased with the quality of work in the prep stage. Keep in mind that all of these body parts were scratched parts that I sourced off the forums and ebay (with the exception of my Corbin smuggler and Kawi 47 trunk lid). Looking at all the parts very close up I can't even tell where any of the scratches were at all!
The worst scratch was on one of the side case lids, looked like it was keyed before, they did such a good job that I couldn't even remember which side case lid it was on...
This is the said side case lid scratch I'm referring to, very deep scratch before indeed.
I was hoping to see some green on the parts tonight but I guess they wanted to sand and primer one more time before paint being applied, which is fine by me, quality before timeline I told em!
So by the time this is done all the parts will have been sprayed 8 times!
Yep... One coat of sealer, 2 coats of primer, 2 coats of green, 1 coat of "Golden Blaze" pearl, and 2 coats of clear.
So for now I guess I just get to wait a bit more, sounds like everything should be ready to pick up by the end of next week...
They plan on spraying green this weekend but I won't have pics emailed to me until Monday because the front office is closed on the weekends, but once I have em I'll be sure to post em up for y'all!
Until then, these are the only green body pic's ya get from me tonight.
