I know it's punny km, not miles, but I hit 90 000 yesterday on the clock and this morning when I started the bike and saw that 9 in front I just gasped. Over dinner yesterday my girlfriend told me that she can't see me parting ways with this bike because of all the places we've been together. At least 25 countries, many stories, perfect reliability, rain that stopped traffic (but not me), cold (12°F is the lowest I've been on a bike), snow (15 feet, to be precise, well over the roof top of the enormous Caterpillar bulldozer clearing up the road), blazing heat (108°F)... we always kept going, always got to my destination and had fun doing it, and as good as never got overtaken when I was in "bansai!" mode.
The relatively frustrating part is that I wanted to hit the 100 000 mark before the end of the season, but it just won't happen. New girlfriend, busy job, having other bikes to ride (I put some 10 000 miles on the 1400 GTR this year and about 7000 on a combination of others) just bit off from my riding-for-fun time. Not that I'm complaining, but you know how it is with numbers
Happy riding to all of us!
