Not enough yet (around $900) since I still get to sleep in bed instead of on the couch.  But that will probably change when I order a new seat and AreaP full exhaust.

Firt poll I've ever seen that is made to switch your vote, Hillarious! That is what makes this site the best forum I've ever read, you guys are great. So Cal, your list you made actually caused me to re-vote, as I was reading your list I thought..."oh, forgot that, and that..." Keep it up guys, you actually make me feel normal and fiscally responsible ;D, Go Irish!

Joe, where did you get your grip puppies?   What size?  Do you know if they work over the heated grips?

Close to $2K and I haven't even owned it long!  But to be fair- much of it was related to the necessary lowering so I could actually RIDE the sucker.

Gee, let's see...

Sargent Seat, Techmount for the GPS, GSG Slider kit, Phils rack, new headlight bulbs from Murph's, Stebel Compact "Truck" air horn, Grip Puppies, Custom Dynamics aux modulating brake light, Bags Connection "Trip" tank bag and QR mount, Fuzeblock aux fuse block, Prodjekt D radiator guard, Leo Vince Carbon.

The Zumo 450, J&M CB, Passport 8500, Givi V46 trunk, Pirates Lair passenger backrest, Kisan Path Blazer headlight modulator, are from the former V-Strom, so they don't count count as new farkles.

Wow...reading this thread made me realize how much I've actually spent, and I've only had this bike since November lol.  Sargent seat, Real Time reflective kit, Projekt D full slider set and rear fender eliminator, PCV, BMC air filter, Area P slip-on (couldn't wait 6-8 weeks for full kit), GoCruise throttle lock,  Michellin PR2's, and Scorpion EXO-1000 helmet (the helmet counts as a farkle because the Connie's tendency to hit triple digits unintentionally made my HJC helmet bobble a lot).  I've probably left something out.  Risers from Murph's...that's what I forgot.

Some over $3000 so far and still have to get a different seat.  CB radio, GPS and trunk were the big items.

Not including shipping, now!! Also, you can't count farkles you have returned or sold, even if you lost money!

You appear to be 1 of 3 so far that voted on the poll in the "+$4k" category Cap'n...  8)

Can you tell us the 3 most costly farkles you did??

Title: Re: How much $$ have you spent on your Connie farkles so far??

:-[  Well, had to change my vote.   A new Corbin seat, GiVI E55 trunk, and Phil's rack this weekend alone.   Want to get risers and techmount ordered some time in the next two weeks but that won't be too bad.
The way I look at it, is if I am going to get it down the road anyways, might as well get it now and get the most enjoyment out of it as possible.
I am sticking with the cosmetic stuff this year and going with the performance mods next year once the bike is "broke in" more.

McCruise, Area P, Heated Corbin, Zumo550, Adaptive TPX (with mount and visual alert), top case!  I'm pretty sure those are some of the more pricey items I bought for it. But really it's the smaller, less expensive stuff that starts adding up real fast!!!  ;D

Yep, I figured you must have had the McCruise on that list Cap'n, that one farkle alone puts anyone into the 4th bar from the top...  :o

I'm in the 500 to 1 thou range.  Shield, mc enterprises bars, risers and cheap gps.  A seat is on my list though.  Then a cruise control eventually.

90% of my farkles I ordered with the bike and installed when I got the girl home. I had a pickup bed full of items from AP exhaust, PC 5, rad. guard, fender extender, risers, GPS ram mount, Givi case, Phil's rack, PR2's, Led lights, grip puppies, C bailey windshield,  external temp gauge, 3M clear tape for tank and bags. All installed with 35 miles on the bike and pulled the secondary butterflies. It took me 2 days but it sure was a lot of fun doing it.

Never really thought about it until this post.

Cee Baily windshield.  Liked it, but I wanted a taller one, so I bought the Vstream.
Zumo 550 plus the XM antenna and XM subscription.
Boostaroo volume booster.  Didn't like it so I bought the Mix-it and then finally the Amplirider.
Various Starcom cables and headsets.
Risers, MC Enterprises tip over protection, GSG Sliders, rear top case, Rostra cruise control (plus I paid a shop to install it). Several different tank bags, newer updated heated gear. Riding gear that better matches the bike, New seat etc...

It really adds up.  Most multi-day rides lead to something else I want or need so, I expect to be buying more for the bike in the very near future.

This is very true.  Most guys I ride with treat their bikes as projects.  Always adding and changing things.  Seems to be the same with boat owners as well.  There's always something new to try out or add to it.

OK but having a maximum vote category like $4,000 + really doesn't show just how badly these things can get out of hand. I mean I paid $4,000 + for my house but that is not indicative of the real cost.  :D

Should I add a couple more tiers to it Brian? So far the $4k+ category is only representing 6% of the voters... (http://i1200.photobucket.com/albums/bb336/jaywilcox/smiley_dunno.gif)

Nah, those who have spent more than four grand probably don't want to tally it up anyway. I can see it now....' I got the calculator and started trying to total my farkles but somewhere in the process I got scarred (or scared, either one works)'. And I say this knowing that I am going to buy a Spot tonight.   :o

the big things are easy to add up Rick Mayer seat, AreaP ,PCIII now taken out and Dynotronics re-falsh replaced it . New PR2s when the stack bones were new ( that would count as a farkle not replacement) but it would be all the little things that you can't count really add up!!!
Mostly because of my chronological superiority i can't remember what they were.....
Here's another category...farkles that you added and replaced a double farkle  ;D

Ya I was suprised to see the FedEx guy today especially carrying a Corbin box.   Less than 2 weeks from internet order to deliver when quoted 3-4 weeks.   Very nice.

I know about the pictures.   I'm trying to get the wife to model in a swimsuit with the bike but the more I think about it, I think I'd better just get some pics of the bike and get them posted so everyone believes I do exist

You add to the poll this far a long into the poll? Most people have probably already voted!  ::)   You have to set up a change your vote option, when you start the poll!

Ok, so I just added 2 more tiers to this poll... I ordered up this week a full Muzzys dual carbon fiber exhaust, PCV, and K&N.

Add another $2k+ to my list...  :loco:   :battle:

Jim, for some reason it won't let me recast my vote, I set the poll up originally to allow revotes, any thoughts?? (http://i1200.photobucket.com/albums/bb336/jaywilcox/confused1.gif) (http://i1200.photobucket.com/albums/bb336/jaywilcox/smiley_dunno.gif)

When I purchased the bike I also ordered $2500 of farkles. The only thing I ordered since then was a GPS Ram mount.

I did set it up that way in the beginning Cap'n, see reply #5 on this thread...

Nobody is ever really "done" adding farkles forever are they?? I set the poll up for revotes so that for some of us that are still kinda newbies to the bike added more farkles to it we could revote.

When I did add in the 2 additional tiers last night it did ask me if I wanted to clear out all past votes in the poll, I said no to that, should I say yes??  ???

OK, that makes more sense now! I doesn't matter so much for me anyway. Because I'm one of the few exceptions that won't be farkleing my C14 farther!  ::)

FYI for any of you that already voted prior and wish to change your vote now, hit the "remove vote" button and it will prompt you for a "new" vote...

I'm under $2k now, but that won't last.  I'm  a seat-junkie.  I love my Baldwin but I want a Russell for longer trips.  I already have the spare seat in my garage waiting for me to send it off.  I detested the Sargent I had...but I made $100 on that deal.  Buy low, sell high, I always say!

HeliBar Right Angle Power Plug ($11)
RAM 6" Arm ($20)

Murph's Fender Extender ($30)
Cee Bailey's Bag Liners ($88)

Time to update my list with a few new additions over the past 5 months.

Murph's 6* Wedges ($70)
Alaskan Leather's Deluxe Sheepskin ($55)
Projekt D XL Rear Rack ($248)
Projekt D Helmet Lock Kit ($59)
Gripster Kit ($75)
Wolfman Small Expedition Dry Duffle ($105)
Wolfman Universal Tie-Down Straps ($9)
Rosta Cruise Control ($260)
Bearing-Up Shift Kit ($21)
Hippo Hands ($75)
Fuzeblocks FZ-1 ($80)
Murf's Lowering Pegs ($92)

Running total is a little over $1800 now and I still need to add heated grips and Ronnie's highway pegs.   :o

So far:
corbin seat
v-stream windshield
bar risers and wedges
grip puppies

To come:
radiator guard
fender extender
grip pads
license plate helmet lock

That'll be it for a while. I was thinking about a top case but I have a decent soft bag (actually, 2 of them) I can use for longer trips.

Added a few more choices to the poll...

I paid just over $10k for my new left-over model 09 ABS at the end of 2010, I just added another $3k for Ohlins rear shock and Ohlins forks, this now puts me into it for mods as much as I paid for the bike... (http://i1200.photobucket.com/albums/bb336/jaywilcox/swiqe.gif)  :-\   ;D

The majority of it is really on 3 things:

Ohlins rear shock and forks = $3k
Corbin (heated front & rear, with passengar backrest and smuggler trunk) = $2k
Muzzys full dual carbon fiber system w/K&N and PCV w/custom map = $3k

The other $2k is just misc bits like Top Block sliders, braided lines, powder coating, etc...

Don't want to think about it $$
Hey Jeremy M did the shifter bearing make any difference? It sounds like a good idea (cheap also ) but could you tell a difference? Thanks jj

I've had my 2010 since April 2011 and have put on:
Murph risers and wedges and two Ball mounts
Used Corbin seat
Banshee Horn
Phils Rack with 47L Kawa top case
Helmet locks
Tech spec pads
Case pins
Cee Baley Ultra Dome windshield
Grip Puppies
MC front and back bars
Larry's passenger lowered pegs

Trying to justify:
Advanced pull bag risers
Cruise control

A super smokin deal in the classifieds right now from Tim on his "MC Cruise" (the absolute best hands down) and local USA vs having to buy from Australia, even still has warranty coverage, check it out DG...  ;)

The stock C-14 doesn't need much.  A better seat, heated grips, and a Throttle-rocker was all I needed.

Oh since everyone else is playing...

2 Cal Sci windshields
Baldwin seat
Russell Day Long seat
Throttlemeister
Pazzo levers
Phil's rack
Givi top case
Twisted Throttle powered tank bag
Annodized oil caps
MCE color matched canyon cages front and rear
Heli bar risers
Gerbing heated gear

I'd like to do Ohlins suspension, powder coat the rims to color match the bike, and probably a few other things.
